The pattern is for knit fabrics.

You can roll the hem or finish it the classic way. A nice detail it's always appreciated, this is why this pattern comes with a front pocket and a drawstring option.

The step by step tutorial with a lot of pictures makes this pattern beginner friendly.

You can sew the shorts either on an overlock machine - serger or on a sewing machine.
